Questions We Get a Lot

A louvered pergola has a roof of adjustable slats. Open the louvers for sun and airflow; close them for shade. This collection is louvered-roof structures only — not fabric gazebos, sail shades, or fixed hard-tops without louvers. Footprint and louver drive are listed on each product page.

Manual louvers use a crank or lever. Motorized louvers use a listed motor and usually need an outdoor-rated electrical circuit. Compare louver drive and any listed electrical requirement on the product page with your site before you buy.

Freestanding units stand on four posts. Wall-attached units fix one side to the house. Both need a level, load-bearing surface sized to the listed footprint plus post and door clearances. This is not a substitute for a site-specific structural assessment.

Pergolas ship free on most orders within the continental U.S. — Alaska and Hawaii are excluded from free shipping eligibility. Units typically arrive via freight as a kit. If you need to return a unit, our 30-Day Return Policy applies — visit the Return Policy page for the complete terms and process.

About Our Louvered Pergolas

A louvered pergola is an outdoor shade structure whose roof slats rotate — open for sun, closed for shade — rather than a fabric gazebo or a fixed patio cover. Manual and motorized drives differ in how you operate the slats and whether a circuit is required; footprint, material (aluminum or wood), and mount (freestanding or wall-attached) are listed on each product page so you can match the structure to a level pad. This collection does not include sail shades, sunrooms, or non-louvered pavilions.
